I've wanted a replica of the Cirrus X3 rocketpack from the excellent and underrated film The Rocketeer for a long time. I finally decided to build one, from scratch. This is the culmination of about 5 months work. Everything made by me, by hand. I learned a lot of new skills during the build process, including molding & casting and a bit of Arduino coding. The trigger fires up LEDs in the rockets and speakers that play the actual ignition, thrust and wind-down sounds from the film. The Leather harness is my own design and, yes, it's as satisfying as you imagine to strap it on.
